20 Years of Hypnotherapy – My Story and What You Can Expect

I’m Božidar, a professional hypnotherapist from Slovenia. After more than 20 years of working in hypnotherapy, I decided to share my knowledge, experience, and real-life cases with a wider audience. This article is an introduction to my work and what you can expect from my content.

Hypnotherapy is often misunderstood. Many people believe that certain problems are impossible to solve. From my experience, that is rarely true. With the right approach, many issues can be addressed more effectively than people expect.

Who I Am and Where I Work

I live and work in Slovenia, a small country in Central Europe bordering Italy, Croatia, Hungary, and Austria. This location allowed me to work internationally and communicate in multiple languages, including Italian and Croatian.

Working in different environments and cultures has helped me develop a practical and adaptable approach to hypnotherapy.

20 Years of Hypnotherapy Practice

Over the course of my career, I have conducted approximately 17,000 hypnotherapy sessions. This number may seem high, but when you work full-time for over two decades and see three to five clients per day, it becomes realistic.

This level of experience provides a strong foundation in understanding how people respond to hypnosis, what works in practice, and how to approach different types of problems.

From Stage Hypnosis to Professional Hypnotherapy

My background in hypnosis began early. Before becoming a hypnotherapist, I worked as a professional magician for several years and was also involved in stage hypnosis.

This experience gave me a solid understanding of hypnosis techniques, which I later adapted for therapeutic use. At the time, I already knew that I wanted to transition from performance to helping people in a more meaningful way.

Why I Chose Hypnotherapy

Choosing hypnotherapy as a profession has been one of the most important decisions in my life. It allows me to work directly with people and support real change.

Over the years, I have met many individuals and built long-term professional relationships through this work. The ability to see progress and transformation in clients is one of the most valuable aspects of this field.

Professional Development and Training

I began practicing hypnotherapy in the early 2000s and started offering professional training programs in 2006.

In 2008, I worked with Gerald Kein and used his system for several years. After his passing, I continued independently under my own brand, Grylls Hypnosis Training.

Today, I organize hypnotherapy trainings twice a year in Italian, Croatian, and Slovenian. I am also preparing training programs in English for a broader audience.

International Hypnotherapy Work

Throughout my career, I have conducted trainings and worked with clients in multiple countries, including Italy, Croatia, Serbia, and Slovenia.

This international experience has helped me refine my methods and better understand different client needs and expectations.

Hypnotherapy as a Profession and Business

Hypnotherapy is both a helping profession and a business. While the primary goal is to support people, it is also necessary to manage practical aspects such as organization, finances, and long-term sustainability.

Understanding this balance is essential for anyone who wants to build a successful career in hypnotherapy.
